New Media track / Production

This class explores the design and production of fun and simple interactive animations for the web, games, 3D character animation and interactive installations. We will start with the creation of simple digital toys using interactive animations and move on to larger and more conceptual installations. Students will discover the potential of interacting with an audience using interactive storytelling, interactive audio and video, motion capture, music and data visualization. Students will design a final project that can interact and engage an audience collaboratively. Students will learn how to design and script 2D and 3D interactive animations. Animations will be produced in Flash, After Effects and Maya. Scripts will be created for Processing and ActionScript.
