The International Music Business Marketplace

This course will explore music and music business outside the United States through classroom instruction, research projects, interaction with guest speakers, and the potential to attend an international music trade show. Throughout the semester students will read and discuss current issues affecting the international music industry, such as mobile technology, support for popular music and artists, copyright, and in-depth analysis of the existing global music marketplace and the potential for change and growth. A significant part of the course involves a research project with an international music company or country.
